Origin and Formation of Our Team

Colin Betteridge, Director and Owner, formed CKB Ltd ® in 2010 following a successful retail career with high street giants in the computer games software industry.  After an inspiring conversation one weekend in the garden with his wife Kirsty, he decided to set up an online retail business initially selling jewellery.  Things went from strength to strength and a little over 2 years later Colin committed his e-commerce business to leased premises amassing 1,000 sq ft.  At the same time Colin successfully recruited his brother Clive to help him grow the business. Clive has managed the development of all our websites including this one and takes care of all our digital marketing. 

The pair of them worked flat out sourcing new products and growing their range as well as dispatching all goods they sold directly whilst ensuring their online marketplace platforms were also sufficiently stocked.  The business quickly expanded and in late 2013 they recruited their Head of Facilities and Global Logistics followed by a fulfilment operative shortly afterwards.  This busy team of four outgrew the premises they were in and moved again in late 2015 to a 5,500 sq ft office and warehouse complex and recruited their Operations Manager and a further two fulfilment operatives.

In early 2016 Colin and his wife decided that the time was right for her to also join CKB Ltd.  Kirsty focuses on PR, HR and business compliance.

Our team of 8 has a strong family ethos behind it and we are dedicated to providing excellent customer service.

Our Company Brands

CKB Ltd ® sells a wide variety of gifts, gadgets and volume home products, including some own brand items.  We focus on offering a cool variety of products customers will be excited by, a little like an Aladdin’s cave as once you start browsing you are sure to feel inspired!

In 2013 we launched Bar Amigos ® and Bar Amigos ® wholesale which offer a range of barware and accessories.  The idea behind this stemmed from Colin’s personal interest in mixology. Bar Amigos ® has really given us the licence to be innovative with creating our own branded products and we offer some very nifty gadgets.

In 2015 we launched Lanyards Tomorrow ™ specialising in selling plain and pre-printed lanyards and badge holders for corporate functions and events including festivals.  We constantly focus on our unique selling points which include providing fun design options available to all.

Our Ethos

We make it our duty to check our prices regularly to ensure we remain competitive. We are committed to speed of delivery and strive to despatch all orders received before 3pm that same day.  We ship internationally too and only use Royal Mail first class or reputable couriers who provide customers with a two-hour delivery timeslot.  We appreciate that our customers want the very best service and we are dedicated to providing just that supported by our no fuss returns policy should you find that any of our goods do not meet your expectations.  In addition, we know that security is important to our customers so we use Barclaycard ePDQ, Amazon Payments & Paypal, all of which are highly reputable.
